Beyond the Instrument: Musicianship in private lessons

How can we possibly cram in extras like aural, theory and improvising into a single instrumental lesson? Isn’t learning exam pieces or band parts enough to cope with in a half hour?

But some teachers seem to manage it.  How do they find time?  What do they teach?  And how do they integrate it all?  MTASA Summer Conference will explore these issues using experts to outline their ways and means.  In addition, there will be plenty of more familiar events such as master classes, concerts and presentations by members.
