Preliminary Round
Held if more than 6 students enter the Reimann-Robinson Scholarship and more than 8 enter the Norman Sellick Memorial Prize.

Notification to teachers (re: video submission): . If minimum finalist numbers are not exceeded, all participants will perform live in the final (no video required).

One continuous take (no edits).
Only unlisted YouTube links accepted.
Camera must show the performer’s face, both hands and the instrument; include feet if used (e.g. piano pedalling).
Both performer and accompanist must be clearly visible with balanced, audible sound.
Submit the unlisted YouTube URL to the MTASA Secretary.
Repertoire Requirements
Reimann-Robinson: 6 finalists; max 15 minutes each.
Norman Sellick: 8 finalists; max 10 minutes each.
Competitors must perform the same repertoire in both preliminary and final rounds.
Conditions of Entry
Open to students of MTASA members. The member must be the student’s principal teacher.
Age limits (as of 1 May 2025):
Reimann-Robinson: 13–18 years
Norman Sellick: 12 years and under
Eligibility exclusions:
Past First Prize winners of each respective competition are not eligible to enter again.
All other students, including past Second and Third Prize winners, are eligible to enter.
Performance Guidelines
Reimann-Robinson Scholarship: Any number of works within a total of 15 minutes.
Norman Sellick Memorial Prize: Two contrasting works within a total of 10 minutes.
No coaching is permitted during the performance.
Photography and recording are not permitted during final performances.
All copyright laws must be observed. APRA/AMCOS forms and original/licensed copies of music must be provided.
Competitors must check in at least 20 minutes before their session.
The adjudicator’s decision is final. The scholarship may be withheld if a satisfactory standard is not met.
All winners will be invited to perform at the MTASA event in January 2026.
