
MTASA Competitions Day 2025
Reimann-Robinson Scholarship & Norman Sellick Memorial Prize
The Music Teachers’ Association of South Australia warmly invites you to the 2025 Competitions Day, featuring the Norman Sellick Memorial Prize and the Reimann-Robinson Scholarship.
This year’s competition will feature both a preliminary video round and a live final at the Australian Piano Warehouse.

- Norman Sellick Memorial Prize: 5:00pm – 6:45pm
- Reimann-Robinson Scholarship: 7:00pm – 9:00pm
ENTRY DEADLINE: (including video submission):
Friday, October 10, 2025
No late entries will be accepted.
Entry Process
- All entries and payments must be submitted online via Humanitix.
- Recordings must be submitted as unlisted YouTube links.
- Competitors must be available to attend the FINAL to be eligible for a prize.
- Video submission deadline: 10 October 2025. Video Submission Requirements are as follows:
- The recording must be done in one continuous take.
- Recordings cannot be posted online except as unlisted YouTube videos.
- The camera must be positioned to capture the performer’s face, both hands and the instrument. If feet are used (e.g., piano pedalling), they must also be visible.
- The recording must clearly show both the performer and accompanist, with balanced, audible sound.
- Once the video is uploaded, the unlisted YouTube URL must be submitted via the enrolment form.
- We will inform the teachers whether the students will be selected into final by 16 October 2025.
- Competitors must perform the same repertoire in both preliminary and final rounds.

Reimann-Robinson Scholarship: Entry Fee: $65
Performance Guidelines

Norman Sellick Memorial Prize:
Two contrasting works must be performed within a total of 10 minutes.

Reimann-Robinson Scholarship:
Any number of works may be performed within a total of 15 minutes.
- No coaching is permitted during the performance.
- Photography and recording are not permitted during final performances.
- All copyright laws must be observed. APRA/AMCOS forms, along with original or licensed copies of music, must be provided.
- If invited to the final – Competitors must check in at least 20 minutes before the start of their session.
- The adjudicator’s decision is final. The scholarship may be withheld if a satisfactory standard is not met.
- All winners will be invited to perform at the MTASA Summer Conference event in January 2026, and feature in the SA Music Teacher Magazine.
Conditions of Entry
- Open to students of MTASA members (any instrument). The member must be the student’s principal teacher.
- Norman Sellick: 12 years and under (as of 1 May 2025)
- Reimann-Robinson: 13–18 years (as of 1 May 2025)
- Past First Prize winners of each respective competition are not eligible to enter again.
- All other students, including past 2nd and 3rd prize winners, are eligible to enter.
